Project Overview
A Flexible Corner Office for a Busy Healthcare Day Unit
The PAH Williams Day Unit required a partition solution that could adapt to changing clinical needs — creating a private corner office space when needed, or opening fully to integrate with the wider day unit floor.
The ModernGlide MG700 sliding glass panel system was the ideal answer. Each glass panel features a top and bottom rail supplied as standard in SAA (Satin Anodized Aluminium) finish — though both can be powder coated to match any interior design scheme. The MG700 is top-hung, meaning no floor track is required, keeping the floor plane clean and accessible for clinical equipment.
- Clear glass maintains visual oversight across the day unit
- No floor track — clean, unobstructed floor for clinical use
- SAA rails standard; powder coat to any colour available
- Reconfigures in seconds — no tools required

The Challenge
A Healthcare Space That Had to Do More
The PAH Williams Day Unit needed a partition that could serve multiple functions within the same footprint. The corner location presented both an opportunity and a constraint — it had to feel open and integrated with the wider unit, yet instantly closeable for private consultations, administrative work, or sensitive clinical conversations.
Standard fixed partitions would have permanently reduced the usable floor area. Traditional sliding doors with floor tracks posed hygiene and accessibility challenges in a clinical setting. The solution had to be clean, flexible, and visually open.
The Solution
MG700 — Glass That Moves With You
The ModernGlide MG700 top-hung glass sliding panel system was specified and installed to create a reconfigurable corner office within the day unit. Glass panels glide smoothly along a concealed top rail, leaving the floor completely clear — no trip hazards, no hygiene concerns, no obstruction to clinical equipment.
The SAA (Satin Anodized Aluminium) rail finish was selected to complement the clinical interior. The clear glass panels ensure visual supervision is maintained at all times, even when the space is enclosed — a critical requirement in any healthcare environment.
"Great use of the ModernGlide MG700 sliding glass panel system to create a flexible corner office space. Each glass panel has a top and bottom rail that comes as standard in SAA but can be powder coated to match any interior design."

The Result
A Space That Adapts to Clinical Demand
The installed MG700 system gives the PAH Williams Day Unit a genuinely flexible corner office. Staff can open the panels in seconds to integrate the space with the wider unit during busy periods, or close them for private consultations, handovers, or administrative tasks.
The top-hung mechanism means zero floor disruption — panels glide silently on precision-engineered carriages with no floor guide required. The SAA rail finish sits cleanly against the clinical interior, and the clear glass ensures the space never feels enclosed or isolated from the ward.
