The Challenge
An open-plan office that couldn't hear itself think
Church & Dwight's open-plan corporate offices suffered from excessive reverberation and ambient noise — a common problem in modern workplaces with hard surfaces and minimal soft furnishings. Speech intelligibility had deteriorated, affecting communication, focus and overall productivity.
The situation was made more pressing by the fact that the original acoustic contractor had failed to deliver. With a deadline looming, Church & Dwight needed a supplier who could move fast without compromising on quality or aesthetics.
- Excessive reverberation in open-plan areas
- Poor speech intelligibility across the floor
- Hard surfaces amplifying ambient noise
- Previous supplier failed to deliver on time
- Tight project deadline with no room for delay
The Deadline
10DaysComplete manufacture, supply and installation — from order to handover.
The Solution
PanelHush — performance and aesthetics, delivered fast

PanelHush acoustic wall panels — direct-fix installation
ModernGlide specified and installed a combination of PanelHush acoustic wall panels and suspended ceiling baffles — a dual approach that tackles reverberation from both horizontal and vertical surfaces simultaneously.
Manufactured from high-density, 65% recycled PET fibre, the panels achieve a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of up to 0.85 — meaning they absorb up to 85% of incident sound energy. Far from being purely functional, the panels were specified in a palette that complemented the existing interior scheme, becoming a genuine design feature in their own right.
Dual-surface approach
Wall panels and ceiling baffles working together for maximum absorption
65% recycled PET fibre
Sustainable material that performs and looks exceptional
NRC up to 0.85
Industry-leading noise reduction coefficient for open-plan offices
Under 10 days
Complete manufacture, supply and installation from order
Suspended ceiling baffles
The PanelHush ceiling baffles were suspended vertically from the structural soffit, creating a dramatic visual rhythm overhead while dramatically reducing the flutter echo and long reverberation times that had plagued the space. Their exposed surfaces — both front and back — maximise the effective absorption area per unit.
The combination of wall panels and ceiling baffles created a layered acoustic environment that reduced reverberation times to comfortable levels, improved speech intelligibility throughout the floor, and gave the space a considered, designed quality that reflected positively on Church & Dwight's brand.

The Results
A quieter, more productive workspace — in under 10 days
The project demonstrated that fast turnaround and premium quality are not mutually exclusive. ModernGlide delivered exactly what Church & Dwight needed, when they needed it.
Reverberation dramatically reduced
The combination of wall and ceiling treatments brought reverberation times down to comfortable levels across all open-plan zones.
Speech intelligibility restored
Staff can now communicate clearly across the workspace without raising their voices — reducing fatigue and improving collaboration.
Panels became a design feature
Rather than hiding the acoustic treatment, the PanelHush panels were embraced as a design element, adding warmth and visual interest to the interior.
Project rescued and delivered on time
After the original supplier failed, ModernGlide completed the full scope — manufacture, supply and installation — in less than 10 days from order.
Sustainable specification
The 65% recycled PET content of the panels contributed to the project's sustainability credentials without any compromise on acoustic performance.
